These are my cookies for the cookie exchange. I actually invented a new cookie just for the exchange with my coworkers. I call it Mint Mountain Fudge. I use the Andes baking mints and apparently they were a hit. As soon as I remember the recipe I will post it.
It all started innocently enough. Our friend Dawn asked us to dog sit so we agreed. But then we fell in love. Dawn has graciously conceded to joint custody and sometimes we come home to find out Bucky has come for a visit. He has no manners and is rather stubborn but we really think he is neat. Except I won’t let him lick my face since he spends a great deal of time licking his own butt. Also he thinks it is his God given right to sleep in our bed with us…..and he actually won that battle.
Here are few Christmas goodies to share. Hopefully I will reveal more tomorrow. Please excuse the crappy photos, I am sick, it is late,and there are only 3 days left till Christmas. Yada Yada Yada

Sergio the serger’s first project is a little baby outfit. He and I are still getting to know one another but I think this came out cute. I usually sew with woven fabric as opposed to knits so this was a good step out of the comfort zone.
And for my secret pal at work who is obsessed with penguins I made a little apron:

He didn’t want me to take a picture of his face but then he started acting silly so I snuck one in….

It speaks to my heart in a way only things I am obsessed with can. However it is priced outside of my budget for frivolous things. (My budget is currently zero) But he did make me smile.

So I have a great weekend.
We had a lovely time at the company party although I have an idea for the suggestion box….how about doing the speeches BEFORE you let the booze start flowing quite so freely…. have the CEO of our company have to call attention like a principle at a school assembly is not fun for anyone. Having said CEO stop in the middle of his speech and wait for the drunk people to shut up is awkward for everyone. And have the CEO have to call out your group from the podium since you couldn’t take the hint to just shut it up is ridiculous.
There was an appetizer buffet that was lovely. It have a lovey fruit and cheese section and shrimp cocktail. However Michael favorite part (the part he is still going on about) was the mini quiche….you know the kind you can get frozen at Sam’s club??? Yep, he loves those little buggers. He also ate a lot of cake which he said was great….it was a grocery store sheet cake…I am an accomplished baker and my husband prefers the grocery store cake and frozen quiche….good grief!?!? What am I going to do with him???
Words can not express how amazing the symphony was on Saturday night. It was spectacular! The guest musicans were David Greenberg on the baroque violin and Chris Norman on the wooden flute and small (midland) bagpipes. As a flute player myself I was super impressed at the range and control this dude had on a wooden flute. Both musicians are from Nova Scotia so the maritime pieces where show stopping. They also preformed some very fun Scottish/Gaelic pieces. And of course since the both specialize in early music they has some beautiful baroque pieces. I will be getting both of their CDs.
P.S. Chris Norman is the flute player on the Titanic Soundtrack.
Sunday was potluck at church. I fixed Chicken Cordon Blue, Crys’ Brussels sprouts (well, they DO speak french in Belgium) and an orange chocolate pudding…think European here not Jello style as it was a baked pudding.
I think it is hilarious the effect bacon can have on a food. Take Brussels sprouts for example, a food usually sneered at, but if you cook them with mushrooms and water chess nuts in bacon grease even pre schoolers will gobble them up. Seriously
And I did spend plenty of time relaxing and creating….I would love to show you what I was working on however I might have misplaced my camera…and drivers license….and wallet. I can not find the little clutch I carried to the party which contained all of those items. So as soon I locate said little clutch I will update with pictures of my craftiness.
I have some fun things planned for this weekend. I am mostly excited to NOT be working….
Tonight is our company holiday party. I am kind of excited to be going since I did not go last year. Babbers and I are double dating with our sweeties. I am looking forward to the tapas and live music. I am also hoping to win one of the awesome prizes they usually give away. However the McKissisk’s will be leaving once the drinking gets out of hand. Its never fun to be the sober person in a room full of drunks.
The Saturday I will spend the day creating (and doing laundry) which I am looking forward too. I have so many things I want to make. Hopefully I will have some pictures of my productivity to show soon.
Saturday evening we are going to the symphony to see the winter concert put on by the CWSO. We love to go to the symphony and are very grateful our friend is a violinist with the CWSO and gives us tickets.
Sunday is a French themed potluck at church. I am still researching my recipes but I will post what I make when I committ to actually making it. Then in the evening I will be hanging out with my friend Brenda who moved to Wausau. I am looking forward to seeing her new place.
Monday is my day….I will probably wear my pjs all day. I will continuing my creating spree. Hopefully I get a lot done.
