A Perfect day!

Words can not accurately describe what a perfect day today was…..seriously. It was wonderful. Days like these remind me why I love my life and how blessed I truly am. God has blessed me with the most wonderful family and friends and sometimes that realization is a bit overwhelming. Have you ever felt that way?

After Church this morning we had a rendezvous at the park for some picnicking, fishing and kayaking. We has a blast as we soaked up the last of the Wisconsin summer. You could feel the cusp of fall in the air. I am so in love with this season.

Isn’t this the most gorgeous baby ever? Noami was off exploring in her mama made dress.

Tyler helped Max get his fishing pole ready to catch some fish. Unfortunately today the fish were not hungry so we didn’t catch anything.

Bryce likes to wittle the twigs.

It was too cold to swim but we still explored the little beach.

Aren’t Jason and Margaret the cutest couple! Margaret and I sat on this bench and knitted for awhile. I am still envious of her skills and patience with the needles.

I rescused this green grosgrain ribbon from one of Christin’s wedding gifts.

Michele actually really dislikes this outfit. She says it looks “polish”. Becca and I think it is fun.

Sewing Playdate

In my opinion, My sewing play date yesterday was a huge success. I had a great time with my new friend Brooke and can’t wait to do it again.

Some of yesterday’s highlights include:

We have so much in common and we are both “talkers” so there were no awkward lulls in the conversation. We had plenty to chat about.

The trip to this really nice (and huge) fabric shop

We both LOVE fabric and Sewing Mamas

She was so thoughtful. She made me a goodie bag like I was at a retreat.

My baked goods went over well with her family. It always makes me happy when people get excited over my cookies.

Her son Tristan was adorable and hilarious!

I did actually get some sewing done which is always a plus!

So many funny things happened yesterday but I think the most hilarious I have to share.

Having only met via our online sewing board and deciding to meet based only on the fact that we both love to sew and only live 90 minutes away from each other Brooke decided to try and get to know a little about me by reading my blog. What she discovered is that apparently I talk way too much about Emily and do not mention the fact that I have a husband enough. Brooke came to the conclusion that Emily was my girlfriend (and not just my friend who happens to be a girl). That cracked me up! I even laughed about it to myself on the way home as I mentally recapped the day. However I should clarify that I am in fact married to the love of my life Michael (Not Emily) for the last 11 years!

It was a great day. Thanks so much Brooke

I was not as productive today as I had hoped to be….

I did hem some pants for my sister in law.

I finished 2 swap blocks (but I won’t show you till I have all 5 done)

I took Becca and Bryce to the library which we do every Wednesday. I was a little saddened to realize we only have two weeks left before school starts.

I was also horrified to discover that they had never seen the movie The Goonies so we checked it out. They really enjoyed it.

I did make plans to get together next week to sew with a friend from Sewing Mamas. I am incredibly excited. I can’t wait to meet her in real life. I love meeting people with the same passions and interests.

I meant to finish my BIL’s pj pants for Christmas. The dragon I embroidered on them looks amazing but took a life time to stitch out. (Seriously like 2 hours) Once I have them sewn up I will make him a quilt and check him off my list. I will be whipping out (LOL) the turning twenty again pattern in some manly colors.

Thats all I got folks

Ladies….Start your machines!

Here are our final players! I will get a flickr set up for everyone to show off their creations and I will also get email address sent out.

Amber: She would like girly blocks (Bright and girly. Think Pink and green)

Emily (Littlegirlgoddess): Black with one additional color

Christin (Static Monkey) Would like blues and greens (Hint: She loves the log cabin block)

Sara: cherry red, pale/light blue, and a bit of white (This makes me happy)

Jolene: Shades and tones of beige, navy, burgandy, deeper greens, mustard (Think Primitive)

Crys: Shades of Orange, Green and browns

Any questions?
