What I am totally digging right this moment….

Check this out!

If you forgot to get me a birthday present you can find it here

I am totally kidding but how great is this!

I am a lucky (and spoiled) Girl!!!!

Well, I have returned home from vacation. I had a lovely time thank you very much. However I am very tired. For those of you who do not know my mother in law had knee replacement surgery a few weeks ago and it is just her and me as far as holiday chefs go. Well this year it was just me…with her trying to help but mostly stressing and exhausting herself. She does reward well for slave labor though and I made out real good!

Look what Santa brought me… well actually my mother in law and Michael

Brother 1034D 3/4 Lay-In Thread Serger

I have been wanting a serger for awhile. And now my sewing studio is complete and I am very content.

For the slave labor I received these as payment

Navy Converse - New by irisheyz_5

New Navy chucks. My old navy chucks were really ratty since I’ve had them since 7th grade….I have these in a lot of colors…I am weird like that.

And to break up our long road trip DH let me stop to stretch my legs at Hancock of Paducah (Aka the most amazing fabric shop in the world)

I scored some yardage of the AH Tillbrook collection. Isn’t it magical?

Its a collection of fabrics featuring Sprites. So sweet. I can not wait to make a frilly frock out of this.

Then on Saturday I had an awesome mail day!!!!  woo hoo I received a couple of great packages in the mail. I love ordering from coops since but the time the items arrive I sometimes forgot what I ordered.

In my box I had a few more yards of these fun Ooga Booga prints.

I also got some fun new patterns:

Oliver and S Bubble Dress Pattern 3mo - 24mo

Oliver and S Swingset Tunic And Skirt Pattern 3mo - 24mo

I also receive the New Conceptions Baby Essentials pattern and The Olivia and The Feliz patterns by Farbenmix. I have loved the other Farbenmix patterns I have made (Anna, Cara and Vida)

So I have lots to keep my creative soul busy the next few weeks and I am super stokes. I actually took some vacation days in January to have a “stay-cation”  a vacation where I stay in the sewing studio and create….and perhaps make a few day trips downstairs to the art studio for some college and painting.

Things I’m digging right now….

Just some things that make me happy….

What I am coveting right now…

This snazzy planner to keep me organized next year. Although I probably need a larger one to organize my chaotic life.

These paints are the same variety the Masters of the Middle ages to create their masterpieces. Its an egg based tempera that allow for amazing detail and brilliant color.

I am so loving these fierce shoes. However even if they were in the budget, and I actually needed another pair of heels, they are wildly impractical for the long, icy winter we are fixing to endure. But they are pretty. A girl can dream….

What I am listening to…

I have been a huge Janet fan for as long as I can remember. I use to rock around the trailer park to Rythm Nation way back in the day. Her new CD has me dancing my bootie off around my kitchen. For Sure

This CD is also in frequent rotation and burned onto my MP3. Seriously makes this southern gal home sick. I love Johnny Cash

As a lifetime band geek I am so into Marches and no one does them better then Sousa. This is a great collection. And Yes, I am frequently mocked for listening to marching bands on CD. I am ok with that.

One of my favorite pieces of music is Carmina Burana . I loved to playing this in band. And The London Philharmonic does it so well.

What I am reading…..

For book club we are reading The Mercy of Thin Air by Ronlyn Dominque. Barbara drew this title out of the jar and since she was the one who suggessted the book I guess its only fitting. Although it better not end up being some sappy romance novel or else!

Also working my way back through Anna Karenina (unabridged) By Leo Tolstoy. I have always enjoyed this book even though Tolstoy has a tendency to be excessively wordy (which I can totally relate to) I do find this story heart breaking and beautiful. And I am currently obsessed with all things Russian.

I am also going to start Hermann Hesse’s Siddartha so Katie and I can discuss it at work. Although I will not be reading it i the original German…..

What I am looking at…

These images make me smile. Random, beautiful, quirky and completely Crys

Goat up a Tree by neepsandtatties

For those who are not aware, I am extremely amused by goats. If I had my way I would have a farm with sheep and goats. Preferably Icelandic sheep and Kashmir goats. I would also start spinning…

Redneck Condos by flamin'hemorrhoid

This always makes me smile. I know I should not confess this but I would love to have this in my back yard…. as an eclectic art studio.

Wassily Kandinsky Merry Structure Print

This is Merry Structure also by Kandinsky who is my Artiste du jour…..and is Russian

What I am watching….

I do not watch a great deal of TV and it will be less now that Project Runway is over (yea Leanne!!!) however Thursday nights are for Ace of Cakes. I love that show. They crack me up and I am in awe of their skills with the sugar. I suspect it is counter productive to my diet since I always want to eat cake while I watch it. But I like cake…a lot.

I have Waitress at home from netflix. I have been wanting to see this movie. I will let you know if it was worth the wait.

Well thats what I’m digging….What about you?
