The post Christmas after glow…

is slightly thwarted by the fact I have to work…..

But we did have a super amazing time at the Thompsons! They spoiled us with gifts. I got a lot of super awesome stuff such as orange clogs, an awesome new CD (Denver and the mile high orchestra) a coffee grinder and yummy coffee, mallets for the xylophone but my favorites were the stuffed goat named Goatee and the book Llama Llama Misses Mama. I love all the Llama Llama books. They are the cutest children’s books and they crack me up. Heck, I also love Llamas so that’s a double bonus.

I was very excited to give the gifts Michael and I have been working on now for months. Everything was well received.

Then we stuffed our faces with all our favorite munchies accompanied by ham. For the record, bacon wrapped water chestnuts are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Just so you know.

We played lots of games and laughed a whole lot and had the best Christmas ever! We are so thankful and blessed to have a family away from our family that we love so much and enjoy more than anything!

I suspect

it is probably too late to tell Santa I want a spinning wheel and a sheep…..Maybe for my birthday!

for secret pal.

I have just a few more things to finish but the urge to start a new quilt is crazy strong today and I suspect I am unable to listen to the voice of reason since I myself lost my voice and can not argue back…..

It is going to be a busy day over at Chez McKissick!

I should have gotten up way earlier then I did. Also probably shouldn’t have had cookies and Mountain Dew for breakfast…..

I received numerous calls from work begging me to come in as they are swamped. I actually would have if I wasn’t a;ready so busy. I am supposed to run to Wausau to pick something up and then high tale it over to Connie’s (who is the wife of one of our Elders) for a holiday luncheon.

Then I have a lot of gifts to finish up and wrap and my house looks abused.

I know I told someone I would do something with them tonight but for the life of me I can’t remember who/what. WHich is the precise reason I should have my planner surgically attached to me. I’ll just be prepared when whoever texts me to tell me I am late for whatever. Tis the season.

Also with all that going on you would think I would get up,get dressed and get to crackin’….except I am blogging in my pajamas at 10:30 in the morning instead. Wish me luck.

Work It Wednesday

So on Wednesday I do my housework but I have noticed that I never get ahead. I am alway doing the same chores over and over. Is that typical of house work or what?

Anyways I have challenged myself to not only get my regular chores done (I can’t in all fairness call it maintenance since it REALLY needs to be cleaned each and every Wednesday and a couple days in between) but I would also like to get one “project” done each week. One of the things on my never-ending list that never manages to get crossed off.

Today I took everything out of my kitchen and dining room that wasn’t nailed down and scrubbed it from top to bottom. For a room that gets cleaned weekly man it was dirty. I then made all of our possessions “audition” for a spot in the new and decluttered kitchen and dining room. Those that weren’t up to the task were forced to find new homes at Good Will. It took all day and I am exhausted. I am also very proud of what I accomplished. I would should you pictures but I have mopped myself in to the basement……

What I made today….

I made this fleece pull over for Bryce for Christmas. Pattern is Kwik Sew and the embroidery is from Urban Threads. Bryce is really into science and all things sort of geeky. Michael told me the brain on the back is creepy.

It does still need to be pressed again.
