I wanted to take some nice pictures outside however it refused to quit raining in Central Wisconsin….blah
2 down, 26 left to go…I am just kidding.
This quilt is incorporating the Blue Star Blocks I pieced here. Now to finish the purple set.
The color combo is in honor of the recipient. These are her favorite colors.
The hard part is going to be waiting until Christmas to give it to her.
Allow me to present BLOCK 13!!!!! I completed all the star blocks. Woot
I totally cheated for the blue block. I actually did not make this block but I did receive it in a swap.
Now I just need to do the sashing and assemble my top. This makes me happy.
Here is a little dress I tested the pattern for. One of the many wonderful women over at Sewing Mamas Dawn has some mad design skills and is creating her own line of Children’s patterns. This is the Amelia.
I prefer the sash tied in the front. The dress isn’t all wonky, I just need either a 4 year old or a toddler mannequin.
for my star blocks that is.
This is block 12. One more to go. Then I make the sashing blocks and sandwich it up!
and Blue: I used some of the sea shell fabric Michael picked out for his quilt b/c Michael and Becca are such good friends.
I have decided to have both of these quilted on a long arm. I have no desire to attempt to quilt 2 queen sized quilts and it is way to much to pawn off on Christin.
I will be so happy when they are done. Yea for making Christmas gifts early!
Purple blocks 8 and 9! 4 more in each color left!
and for the record…um..well you see…someone might have run out of purple scraps conveniently around the same time she was in Wausau near the Quilting Workshop….well… and you see…someone is still trying to support local businesses….that’s all I’m saying….
Block 6 gave me fits…I am pretty certain it was operator error. Actually i know I miss cut a couple times. I seam ripped a lot and recut. The end product is still far left of perfect but I am going with finished as opposed to perfect. Call it growth.
I even used my beloved Fish in Bags which is discontinued. I am actually hoarding several yards….
And block 7
I adore these little houses.
On to block 8!
Since my dear friend Static Monkey offered to quilt the turning twenty quilt for me (she actually enjoys that process) I am back to working on my star blocks. By the way I totally under estimated the number of blocks needed for each quilt…..I though 10 but it is closer to 13…. Oh well, I have time.
Block 5 is probably the hardest pieced block I’ve done so far. It doesn’t look that challenging but it definately made me think….and rip lots of seams. Which is why I only have the purple done to show you….that and Emily was hogging Bernie even though we have more then one sewing machine down here….She quilted her gorgeous pink, black and white quilt. I can’t wait to see that one finished.
On to my purple block
and a closer look at the fabrics….
