You really want to be me right about now!

Cuz I just totally won the blog give away over at Yeppar! That’s right, the GRAND PRIZE…5 new patterns for me. Words can not describe how happy I am about this. I woke up early just to see who won 🙂 So glad I did. Go check out her Etsy shop. Her patterns are both modern and classic, they are modern classic if you will. I already have the Hannah pattern. The directions are clear and concise with lots of pictures along the way. And frankly I think she is under charging for such brilliant designs but hey, that is great for ya’ll. I don’t need to worry about her prices since I get 5 free!!!!!

I know today is gonna be a great day. Off to pick out my loot!

We have arrived!

In Tennessee that is…. yippee. Reagan is now being snuggled by her grandmom, granddad and uncles. I am rejoicing in the extra hands to help with the baby wrangling. Except no one was eager to help at 4am this morning when she wanted to eat. I guess night feedings are still my gig.

We have a jam-packed week ahead of us. So many friends and family to visit and shopping to do. Not including all the normal Thanksgiving prep work.

Sunday (today) we are heading to my cousin Jennifer’s to celebrate her son Aj turning 2. My normal 2-year-old gift is usually finger paint or a musical instrument but as I am a mom myself and have to worry about retaliation I decided to go with something else. Ok I lied…. I totally got him a xylophone!

Monday I am heading back to Jennifer’s to teach her how to sew. We are very excited. Tuesday is shopping with my mother in law during the day and visiting with our very cherished friends Kenny and Cary in the evening. Wednesday I hope to meet Diana for lunch at Burdett’s tea shop and then off to get Reagan’s picture made with her cousins. I also have to bake all the Thanksgiving pies on Wednesday. Thursday (after the frantic cooking) is eating and relaxing with family. I also have my fingers crosses grandmom will watch Reagan while Michael and I possibly go to the movies with his brothers. Friday my mother in law and I do lots of shopping. I have my heart set on a trip out to Textile Fabrics in Nashville. And after an exhausting and fun-filled week we will start the horrifically long journey home on Saturday since I have to work on Sunday afternoon.

Reagan did great on the trip down. We did break in into 2 days since we couldn’t leave until after Michael got home from work on Friday. She had the birds in the back seat to keep her company and I made sure we stopped in Paducah to stretch our legs at Hancock’s of Paducah. I even rewarded her for her good behavior by letting her pick out some fabric for a new outfit and a new Oliver and S pattern. Reagan has very good taste. She must have inherited that from me!

I hope you all have a fun and blessed Thanksgiving week with those you love. I know we have so much to be Thankful for!

Cherry Limeade

is her name…. Doesn’t she scream Summer? She was also super easy!

I made her to welcome Lentil’s cousin who is due about the same time as Lentil. No, I have not yet made poor Lentil a quilt but she does have a lifetime to enjoy mama made…. this is what I tell myself to ease the guilt.

I will be delivering this to the machine quilter’s house today after our trip to the baby doc. I hope to have it back by next week to bind it and get it in the mail.

I borrowed my inspiration from Oh, Fransson who I think is brilliant but I made several changes along the way. Most of this fabric has been in my stash since the beginning. Pretty impressive, I did not go to the fabric store at all. I decided to make a quilt and wend down to the studio and made one with what I had on hand…imagine that!

Sorry for the crappy photos…at least I am blogging again!

Holy Guacamole Pablo Picasso!!!!

We leave Friday for vacation and I have a metric ton of things to finish/get done. To make it even more fun I won’t have a day off until Friday. Ahhh well, In the words of the great Mr. Magorium ‘Your life is an occasion, Rise to it!’

I am ready for a challenge and a whirl wind week. I can do this….right? You believe me, don’t you?

Things left to accomplish:

Stitch the binding down on a quilt (a very, very large and important quilt)

Whip up 2 coordinating pillow cases

Finish quilted pot holders

Gingerbread men ornaments

Extra curricular activities this week (which have the potential to make the above list humanly impossible but hey, I am super woman…or crazy)

Tuesday night knitting group with my Ravelry homies…in Wausau (45 minutes away)

Wednesday night bible study

Thursday night date with Christin and Emily to see RENT…wooo hooo.

That leaves Monday night free right? Well, I sort of work until 10pm mmmmm. I can accomplish this. I will accomplish this. I need Mountain Dew.

When will I finish my list? Pack? Gather kitchen Utensils I must haul with me to Tennessee ? Cancel Dentist appointment? Get hair done?

I can’t wait to get to Tennessee and relax. I suspect I will need it. I am also super excited to visit family and friends.

P.S. My social calendar is filling fast so if you want to see me let me know soon or you might miss your window of opportunity.  That or your allotted time will be result in you accompanying me on one of the many grocery store trips my mother in law is certain to send me on!

Oh Saturday….

Way must you always go away so quickly?

I spent the morning hours doing wedding hair and make up for Barbara’s sister-in-law. The most exciting part was that they live on a farm and I got to watch their new baby horse hop around his mama and then I got to play with the baby goats!!!!

After doing 5 head’s of hair and make up I came home and took a nap with my sweet husband. Seems like we are both so busy lately that we have to steal time away to spend time together. He had to go to a preacher’s retreat up in Black River Falls today and got home just in time to nap.

Then we met our favorite friends (really they are our family here in Wisconsin) for dinner at Arby’s and many rounds of Mexican Train Dominos where I dominated the night and won by a long shot!

Do you have those special friends you feel like you can spend all the time in the world with and never tire of? Where you can be completely relaxed and laugh your head off? They truly are a gift from God and I pray He has blessed you with friends as amazing as our Thompson’s

But then I looked at the clock and relaxed that Saturday had breezed right on by……Good thing I like Sunday just as much.

Let the sexy bedroom made over begin!

Our super awesome new mattress was delivered today…..that means I must completely rearrange all bedrooms in my house….even though I still have swine flu and only have about 30 minutes of energy before I require a 2 hour nap.

My exceptionally frugal husband finally caved in and agreed to by a decent mattress, Our last one most likely fell off the back of a truck in Detroit and was purchased at a cash only warehouse in the ghetto. We have discovered that our bodies are no longer 22 and can’t bounce back from crappy sleep as well….one of the many reasons I no longer go to the club (others include the fact that I no longer drink, I would rather spend my money on other things and I do not enjoy watching drunk people)

So our Serta Beauty Rest was delivered today. We had discussed upgrading to a king but decided to stick with a queen and spend more money on the mattress as opposed to buying a new bed and all new linens also. In reality we aren’t very tall people and a queen is sufficient.

So now the fun begins! I am going to have Michael paint the new bedroom dark tealish blue (Stunning by Benjamin Moore) he is grumbling just a bit about this since technically he just painted this room WAY back in May… remember this room makeover?

Well technically that is the largest bedroom but not the master bedroom. Weird right….gotta love old houses. When we first moved in we used that bedroom as our room but then decided to actually try using the master bedroom since I was just using it as a huge closet. I have made an executive decision that we are moving back to the other room so it will have to be repainted. (yes this will be the 3rd time I moved our room in 3 years)  Also the blue room is moving to the little room next door so yes, I asked my sweet husband to repaint a room he just painted in May and to paint the room next to it the color he is painting over. Evil, I know….but no complaining will be accepted from him as Christin did most of the painting last time….Hey, Christin whatcha doing on Wednesday?

This all makes brilliant sense to me but as I am hopped up on cold medicine right now I am fairly certain it is coming across as a jumbled mess. Sorry. You will just have to wait for the pictures….

I am ridiculously happy

that the following eye candy came to reside in my Art studio!

Yummy Mosaic Moon yarn! If you are a knitter/crocheter and have not yet experienced this supremely gorgeous hand painted, organic yarn then you must immediately do whatever must be done in order to acquire some. Even if it mean selling your first born to Gypsies.  Think of the cultural experience they would have and you would be reward with some of the best fibers money can buy. Too be honest, the prices are very reasonable but due to the handmade nature of the yarn it is only stocked twice a month. I probably shouldn’t tell you this since it could possibly make it harder for me to get…I shall pretend that you will send me some as a gift for introducing you to this fabulous fiber fun. Stalk the shop

And as payment for once again providing Barbara with kick a$$ hair the following loot was generously bestowed on me. I love the bartering system!

An assortment of Japanese fabric delights!

Not going to lie, the French sheep on green makes me giggle with glee!!!!!

And my disclaimer:

I have not forgotten it is still treatless October. How can I when I am reminded every day by the Mr? The yarn was ordered in Sept and the fabric was payment for services rendered!
